GurgaonFirst Foundation recently conducted a full-day Sustainability Training Workshop at CCA School, Gurugram, reaching over 200 students and teachers with practical knowledge on environmental awareness, waste management, and sustainable living.
Why Schools Are the Right Starting Point
Behavioural change at the community level is hard. But children are natural agents of change — they carry new ideas home, challenge family habits, and grow up to become decision-makers. GurgaonFirst’s school programme is designed on this insight.
What the Programme Covers
The CCA School workshop covered four core modules:
- Understanding Your City’s Resources — Air, water, waste, and energy as interconnected systems
- The Waste Audit Challenge — Students measured, categorised, and calculated their school’s daily waste generation
- Aravali and the Gurugram Story — The ecological foundation of the city and why it matters
- Green Action Planning — Each class created a 30-day sustainability action plan for their section
The CSR Opportunity
GurgaonFirst Foundation’s school sustainability programme is available for CSR partnerships under Schedule VII (Environmental Sustainability, Education). Corporate partners receive detailed impact reports, employee engagement opportunities, and recognition in programme materials.
